Slade & Company Team

William Slade


William founded Slade & Company in 2006 as a way to better serve his clients after leaving the financial services industry. William earned Bachelor’s degrees from the UC Davis. He is a Certified Financial Planner™, Enrolled Agent, QuickBooks Certified ProAdvisor (desktop, online, enterprise), Xero Certified Advisor, and FreshBooks Certified Partner.

Active in professional and civic affairs, he teaches a California Tax Education Council’s initial certification course. William has presented, or been a guest on panels for various entities including; Golden Gate University, Ameriprise Financial, MeriWest Credit Union, Xero Accounting, and the Solano Association of Realtors. William is a past president of the UC Davis Silicon Valley Alumni chapter as well as a past Treasurer of the board of directors for Works San Jose.

Leesah Marvin


Leesah began working for a tax office in 1999 and shortly after that took the H & R Block tax course. She has played a key role in every aspect of tax preparation services to a large tax practice here in Silicon Valley. She is a California Registered Tax Preparer and been actively meeting with clients and preparing tax returns for individuals and small businesses since 2008. She earned her Bachelor's degree from California Baptist University.

Chet Ford

With over 30 years of experience in the various roles including, CFO, Controller, and Senior Bookkeeper. Chet has extensive experience working with restaurants, graphic design firms, interior design, real estate broker offices, service stations and small start-ups. Versed in a variety of accounting software including; QuickBooks for PC and Mac, QuickBooks Online, Netsuite and MYOB. Chet is also a FreshBooks and Xero certified advisor. His ability to create cash flow analysis and budgets in Excel helps our customers understand their business needs through different business environments in an easier format to understand.

Bill Downey


After leaving the corporate world as Vice President and General Manager of Beatrice Foods, Bill opened his tax practice in San Jose which has merged with Slade & Company in 2015. He became an Enrolled Agent (EA) in 1986. He is a member of the National Association of Enrolled Agents (NAEA), the California Society of Enrolled Agents ( CSEA), and the Mission Society of Enrolled Agents, where he served as a member of the Board of Directors and Chair of the Education Committee.

Donna Shears

Donna has over 30 years experience as bookkeeper. She prepares clients monthly, quarterly or annual Financial Statements, Payroll Processing, Sales Tax Returns, Annual Business Property Tax Form 571-L and year end payroll forms W2's and 1099-Misc. She is also a California Registered Tax Preparer. Donna is very efficient and communicates great with clients and is an avid GIANTS fan!!!
